The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet, conducted at the beginning of each year, traditionally offers a guest speaker or performer. The 2012 installment featured an Elvis impersonator. This year’s banquet, set for Jan. 31, will feature “Best of the Road” contest judges Rick Griffin and Sandi McKenna, who made the decision in summer 2012 that Gainesville is the “Most Patriotic Small Town in America.”
