Gainesville High School trombonist Koby Parks has reached 2nd chair in the All- State Jazz Band. Koby was 1st chair in the region this fall. Koby recorded all of the necessary pieces of music and sent them to San Antonio to be judged for the 2nd chair in the state award. He is a Senior at GHS and will attend the Texas Music Educator Association Convention Feb. 13-16 in San Antonio. Koby attributes his musical success to hard work, practice and his teachers — GHS band director Taylor Kami and Gainesville Middle School band director David Weilby.
