Cross Point Baptist Church
Sunday Review
Our message this week, given by Pastor James Bridges, was entitled Satan's compromises. Pharaoh symbolizes Satan and Egypt symbolizes the world. Compromise is unacceptable in Christian life. Jesus knows our sorrows. God calls His children out of this world. We do not conform to this world. We, as Christians, are called to be different. If we are saved, God has met with us. We must come in full humility and repentance before God. First is sacrifice, then service, then fellowship. Service and fellowship go hand-in-hand. Satan would have us compromise our faith, service, doctrine, trust, family and possessions. Satan will have us dictate who God is, based upon our circumstances. Egypt, a prosperous nation at this time, served many gods.
Does our faith blow in the wind? We must stand firm upon Jesus. People who are not saved do not see the value of serving God. Our emphasis should be on church. Let God take care of the rest. Service to the Lord should be number one in our lives. "Give the Lord all ya got!"

Grand Avenue Baptist Church
We wished Bud Synoground and Heather Sandmann a happy birthday. Happy anniversary to Don and Audra Harmon. Our Minister of Youth told of a camping trip organized by his assistant Joshua Carpenter and how much fun the boys had.
Al Latham and Bud Synoground took up the offering as Suzanne Carpenter played “Without Him” on the grand piano.
Bro. Bill Black's sermon was from John 13:1-17 where Jesus washed the feet of His followers. This should serve to remind those of us who preach the Gospel that none of us are indespensable. Our position is on loan from God. It was the lowest slave in the house who washed the feet. Jesus pointed out that to be truly great, one must be a servant. It is an honor from God to deliver His message. That message is more important than the messenger. Jesus even washed the feet of Judas, knowing he would betray Him. Whatever your position of service may be, you should be satisfied there and do your best. As He said, the last shall be first and the first shall be last.
Marcia Porter gave the benediction.

Sunday Review
On this rainy Sunday, Pastor David Hartwig gave a sermon titled, "The Other Two Men," referring to the two thieves who were crucified with Jesus. His main scriptural references were Luke 23:32-43 and Matthew 27.
Three crosses were described in the sermon. They were the cross of rebellion, represented by the unrepentant thief; the cross of reception, which was the cross of the thief who confessed his sin and repented; and the cross of redemption where Jesus suffered and died to redeem us.
Only three things are necessary for salvation. They are repentance, faith, and a savior.

Vilott Baptist Church
Welcome
We want to invite you to join us at Vilott Baptist Church for Bible studies and prayer groups. These groups are the chance to become involved in the Lord’s work. Even if you are not a member here, you can attend one of these groups. Get involved; do not sit on the sidelines of life. We know there are a lot of people in the area who have time on their hands. We open our doors many times during the week to accommodate our friends and neighbors.
A question was asked and needs to be shared. When does a person become a Christian? When they accept the Lord as their Savior.
When and how do they become Baptist? The moment someone becomes a Baptist is when they arise from the baptismal waters. This public profession of faith of being buried in His likeness and arisen new and fresh from the water starts now.
Easter Sunday is in just a few weeks. Please find a church to remember exactly what Jesus did for you on that day. Christ loved you enough to give His life on the Cross. He was buried and arose to show us the way to His Father. We still get to make the choice of accepting Him, or not. Do you want to find out more, come to church?
We at Vilott want to extend open arms to all who wish to join us. The doors of our church are open several times a week for Bible studies and prayer. Our regularly scheduled times start on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. with a fellowship breakfast followed by Sunday School. The worship service is at 11 a.m. beginning with old-fashioned gospel music. We are the old-fashioned Bible-believing, loving, and caring kind of church. There other Bible studies and small groups open to the public. We do not have closed services; all are welcome. Everyone from each walk of life, the doors are open to you. Call our pastor Rick Isham if you need further information at (940) 665- 1629.
There are churches all around and in every direction. There is no excuse not to be in a house of worship if you want to be. We hope to see you at Vilott Baptist Church. We invite all to come. No one is turned away.
We are located on FM 678 north of Highway 82.
St. Mary’s Catholic
Fourth Sunday of Lent
The elect and candidates of the RCIA will once again assemble for the Second Scrutiny this coming Sunday at the 11 a.m. Mass. Patsy Henry and Will Bezner along with Father Jim Pemberton will proclaim in parts the Gospel of John 9:1-41; from the Cycle “A” readings. The gospel is about the man born blind. The story’s plot centers on the question: “Was it his sin or his parents’ sin that caused him to be born blind?” and on how the blind man came to know Jesus in the process.
At the other Sunday Masses, the reading will be taken from Cycle “C” readings. The Gospel is the story about the younger son leaving his father and an older son who remain home with his father and how they related to their Father. The focus is on the loving and compassionate Father who represents God. It is about God’s deep and constant love for each of us no matter who we are or what we have done with our lives up to this point.

When these sons are grown, Esau sells his birthright to Jacob. Isaac and his descendants are promised the blessings of the Abrahamic covenant. Jacob marries Leah and Rachel in the covenant. How might some of us make errors similar to Esau's, choosing things that bring immediate gratification rather than things that have eternal value?

We will be gathering from noon to 1 p.m. on Mondays.

Whaley United Methodist Church
Trying to find "balance" in any family is often like a circus act. No matter what the shape of the family, "group dynamics" are always at work in each person's unique personality. Whether it is "power" struggles, "hide and seek", "secrets", "conspiracies", "selfishness", "illness", "rejection", "jealousy" or anything else, families are always doing a “balancing act”.
This Sunday at Whaley we will be exploring the ways God helps every family find "balance".
Maybe you think your family is a "family circus" also. Ha. Many are. Come and be with us this Sunday at Whaley as we seek to learn from God together. Can God help bring "balance" to the "family circus"? We won't know unless we let God be the "Ring Master".
Pancake Breakfast
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour this Saturday night before going to bed. Pancake Breakfast this Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., sponsored by the Whaley X-men. The public is invited to join Whaley members for this “Daylight Savings Time Pancake Bonanza!”

Bible Study Review
Subject: Giving to the needy. When you give to the needy, do it in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. This study is found in the books of Matt.6: 1-4; Matt. 5: 14-16; 1 Pet. 1: 22-25; Deut. 15: 10-11; Matt. 23:13-29; Prov. 16: 18-19 Ps. 25: 8-9. Your motives for all you do is known to God. The praise from man is very short but the rewards of God are eternal. All men are like grass and all their glory is like the flowers of the fields; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever. When you give to the needy, do so without a grudging heart;and the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. God guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. All our words, actions & deeds are known to God. We can hide nothing from Him.
Sunday Review
March 7, we learned "The Importance of Patience In Our Lives" Scriptures being Ps. 37: 1-9; Phil. 4: 4-7;Ps. 40: 1-4; Rom. 5"1-5; Prov. 3: 5-8; Heb. 10: 1-4 God offers us help for today and hope for the future. Unwaivering confidence in God is our anecdote for fear & lonliness. How can our patience be strengthend? Through prayer, hardships & difficulties. If you trust in the Lord, have patience and wait upon Him you will have the peace of God in your heart and will know that you can face any trial here on earth, simply because you know God is with you always." Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding."
