Gainesville High School recently won a Facebook contest conducted by the First State Bank. The contest was split into categories determined by size of the school district. GHS won the 3A and 2A bracket. The grand prize was $5,000. David Glancy, GHS principal, said he’s going to use the funds to purchase a color poster maker for academic purposes. The poster maker will allow educators to enlarge testing charts for classrooms, recognize student achievements and publicize the large number of students who receive collegiate acceptance letters. “We want to make those acceptance letters larger and hang them in the halls,” GHS principal David Glancy said. “ We can use this poster maker for anything but we want to especially use it to highlight our academic achievements.” Pictured left to right are First State Bank marketing director Karen Cook, GHS principal David Glancy and FSB executive vice-president Ryan Morris.
