Controversy continues about a 1,400-acre fracking sand mine under development by energy company EOG Resources Inc., and a related “formal contested case” hearing is set for 10 a.m. July 12, at the Cooke County Courthouse annex building in Gainesville. The hearing is not a public comments forum, but will allow attendees to determine their eligibility as involved parties in future proceedings while the energy company awaits an air quality permit from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
