Shelter

A total of approximately 150 Cooke County residents have been given the initial “go-ahead” to install a safe room/storm shelter on their property as part of a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) program that partially reimburses their expenses. This group, already signed up, has until May 31, 2013, to complete their installations. Cooke County Fire Marshal Ray Fletcher has said that those who fail to complete their projects by that deadline will have their approvals revoked and will lose their opportunities to participate in the FEMA program.
