New gallery opening

Artist Donna Howell-Sickles, right, hosted a reception Saturday for the opening of the new Davis and Blevins Gallery on the square in downtown Saint Jo. The spacious new gallery is a remodeling project three years in the making. The building was once a condemned dance hall located next door to the original Davis and Blevins Gallery and Gift Shop which will remain open. The new gallery features several prominent artists including original paintings by Howell-Sickles such as "Prairie Rose," the 59 by 35 inch acrylic painting shown above. Pictured with the artist is her husband John Sickles and grandson Bryson.
