State Farm offers protection and peace of mind for clients

For State Farm, the priority is providing their clients with something desired by everyone: protection.

Offering insurance for almost every aspect of living, State Farm takes time to find the right type of insurance coverage for its members while keeping potential clients as informed as possible about the insurance process.

"We all kind of live in a world where bad things happen to someone else ... until they don’t,” Goldsworthy said. “Honestly, I wish bad things would never happen to anybody. But when they do, I’m glad that I represent State Farm and I’m glad we have the policies built right. Because then, I can go and write the checks to help people get their lives back together. And that’s very rewarding.”

The company offers life, health and auto insurance, but also includes policies for homeowning, retirement plans and business ownership, among others.

The range of services offered by State Farm has grown in recent years – along with its insurance policies, State Farm now also provides financial services like mutual funds, banking, loans, and credit cards.

The company has become highly user friendly online, allowing its members to pay bills, manage payment plans, view policy information, file a claim and more from their computer.

State Farm also works to inform its customers, providing statistics about its claims on its websites, letting members know about the trends in insurance. In the Teen Driving Facts and Stats part of its website, the company let clients know that October is the dangerous month for teen drivers.

Even with that information available, Goldsworthy knows a key part of the job is to identify customer needs and decide what policy serves as the best fit for each client.

“We have so many choices of how we acquire products,” Goldsworthy said. “We all live in our own worlds of what we are experts at, and with all businesses, one of the challenges is to make sure the customer understands what their needs are and what their options are. And that’s what we try and do, is to get past the mystery.”

During that process, the focus is on letting clients decide how much risk they plan to place on the insurance company and how much of it they want to maintain for themselves.
