State Farm Insurance provides a broad range of client services

Gainesville — State Farm Insurance exists to protect the future of its customers, and to help them recover from misfortunes of the past.

Agent Jim Goldsworthy said that in achieving this, his role includes clarifying the insurance process for potential clients and matching them with the exact coverage they need.

We all kind of live in a world where bad things happen to someone else ... until they don’t,” Goldsworthy said. “Honestly, I wish bad things would never happen to anybody. But when they do, I’m glad that I represent State Farm and I’m glad we have the policies built right. Because then, I can go and write the checks to help people get their lives back together. And that’s very rewarding.”

State Farm offers life, health and auto insurance, but also offers specialized policies for virtually every facet of living — including homeowning, home renting and farm/ranch ownership.

Through the years, State Farm has broadened its diversity of services; in addition to insurance policies, it also provides financial services such as mutual funds.

But Goldsworthy admitted the world of insurance, simply by itself, is broad enough and possibly confusing to many people.

“We have so many choices of how we acquire products,” Goldsworthy said. “We all live in our own worlds of what we are experts at, and with all businesses, one of the challenges is to make sure the customer understands what their needs are and what their options are. And that’s what we try and do, is to get past the mystery.”

“We want insurance to do,” he added, “what people expect it to do when bad things happen.”

Goldsworthy said his own daily focus remains on letting clients determine how much risk they want to transfer to the insurance company and determine how much risk they want to retain for themselves. “At the end of the day, we offer a great value, both in coverages and in costs of the insurance. We’re very cognizant of the fact that every dollar matters.”

And Goldsworthy added that his agency, with its benevolent purpose, is well-suited to the “Americana” tone of Gainesville and Cooke County.

“We live in interesting times,” he said. “We’re really blessed to live in a great community in a great county. Small businesses employ so many people — and I’m really proud of the services my team offers and their dedication to the community. We really do take our mantra of ‘the good neighbor’ to heart. We want to treat everyone as we would want to be treated and we live up to that golden rule.”
