Debbie Griffin of Childress would like to announce the upcoming marriage of her daughter, Rishia Williams of Denton, to Joel Phillips of Denton.
Rishia is the daughter of Debbie Griffin and the late Eddie Darrell Griffin and the granddaughter of Patsy Jester of Childress. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2004 and currently works as a third grade teacher for Lewisville ISD.
Joel is the son of Susan and Stewart Smith of Carrolton and Mike Phillips of New Orleans, La. He is the grandson of Billy Bob and Landi Phillips of Gainesville and Laurie Bezner of Hurst.
Joel attended kindergarten and junior high in Gainesville and is a 1999 graduate of the University of North Texas. He currently works as an IT Manager for the UNT.
The ceremony will be held Feb. 20, 2010 at 6 p.m. in the Country Abbey in Justin with Jeanne Jester, aunt of the bride and a current missionary in Africa, officiating.
After the wedding, the couple plan to reside in Denton.
