Zielinski to address Republican Women

Cooke County — The Cooke County attorney’s office will be the topic at the monthly meeting of Cooke County Republican Women, set for 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in the fellowship hall of First Christian Church.

County Attorney Ed Zielinski and Assistant County Attorney Keith Orsburn will explain the role of the county attorney, the functions of the office and changes that are being made to manage cases for trial.

Zielinski was elected in November of 2012, and took office on Jan. 1. He has been licensed to practice law in both New York and Texas. He has served as general counsel for a nonprofit organizations, as the county’s assistant district attorney and also as a justice of the peace.

After receiving a bachelor of science in economics from the University of Detroit, he earned his juris doctor degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in Washington. He was a captain in the United States Army and is a graduate from the Army Judge Advocate General's School.

Orsburn has been licensed to practice law since 1984, and has been board-certified in criminal law since 1999. He has been in private practice for 28 years and served as municipal judge for the cities of Ponder, Corinth, Valley View and Denton.  Orsburn received a bachelor of arts in political science from Baylor University and a juris doctor degree from South Texas College of Law.  Born and raised in Cooke County, he is a fifth-generation native Texan.

The public is invited to the meeting and refreshments will be served.
