Faith Lutheran Church

Faith Lutheran Church invites everyone to join our Palm Sunday worship service on Sunday morning. The traditional worship service will begin at 10:15 a.m. Sunday School for children and youth and Bible Study for the adults will begin at 9 a.m. For those who wish to arrive at 8:45 a.m., coffee and fellowship will be shared. A nursery will be provided.

In Faith’s church family, Margie Hershey and Joan Lee will celebrate their birthdays this week. We ask special blessings on them.  

On Wednesday, March 27

• Ladies Morning Bible Study group will meet at 9:30 a.m. to continue a study of the book of 1 Corinthians.

• Faith Choir will practice at 5:15 p.m.

On Thursday, March 28, a Seder Meal will begin at 6 p.m. to be shared by members of Faith as a celebration of Maundy Thursday.

On Friday, March 29 a Good Friday Service will begin at 7 p.m.

The church number is 668-7147 and Pastor Sundbye’s home number is 612-5552. The Bible Verse for the week is from Psalm 86: 8: “Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my cry for mercy.”

"Stepping Up" —  FBC Women's Brunch

Our Women's Ministry will bring spring in with a brunch for the ladies on Saturday, April 6 from 10 am to noon in our Fellowship Hall. There is no cost and you may make your reservations by contacting Sharon at 665-4347 before March 27 at 5 pm.

First Annual North Texas Beast Feast

For all the men and boys in our area we encourage you to put Monday, April 29 on your calendars now. This is the date of our first Beast Feast.  This is a great time for men and boys who love hunting, fishing and other sports to get together for a great meal, enjoy exhibits and booths and hear an avid hunter, Dr. Paige Patterson speak.  Tickets are available by calling the church office at 665-4347.

Maundy Thursday

At 7 p.m. on Thursday evening March 28 we will observe Maundy Thursday in our sanctuary. This will be an intimate time of introspection and worship including the Lord's Supper.

2nd Annual National Day of Prayer Community         Observance and Luncheon

At 11:30 a.m. on May 2 we will observe the second Annual National Day of Prayer with a community observance and luncheon.

  • Spooky Spooky saved many lives

    Vietnam veterans remember the Douglas AC-47 gunship Spooky and when they do, they often thank the plane for their lives.
    The airplane’s primary function was for close air support for ground troops during episodes of heavy enemy fire.
    A restored AC-47 gunship will be on display to the public April 11 and 12 at the Gainesville Municipal Airport. The plane arrived March 31 and scheduled plans include a flyover during the April 12 Medal of Honor Host City parade on California Street.
