Area graduates prepare for the next stage in life

Cooke County — Cooke County-area high schools are set to conduct commencement ceremonies during the next three weeks, and officials provided information Wednesday regarding graduating class sizes and the top scholastic students.

Gainesville High School

Co-valedictorians are Link Ferch and Sarah Gerken in a class of 140 graduating students, and salutatorian is Connor Markle. A ceremony is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at the University of North Texas in Denton.

Lindsay High School

Valedictorian is Megan Schumacher in a class of 37 graduating students, and salutatorian is Chisam Reiter. A ceremony is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Centennial Hall in Lindsay.

Muenster High School

Valedictorian is Brooke Walterscheid in a class of 34 graduating students, and salutatorian is Lauren Rohmer. A ceremony is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, at the Muenster High School gymnasium.

Callisburg High School

Valedictorian is Amberly Colwell in a class of 79 graduating students, and salutatorian is Jamie Eddleman. A ceremony is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, in the Callisburg High School gymnasium.

Valley View High School

Valedictorian is Lydia Zimmerer in a class of 42 graduating students, and salutatorian is Ashley Price. A ceremony is set for 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, at North Central Texas College.

Collinsville High School

Valedictorian is Haley Crowe in a class of 36 students, and salutatorian is Sara Eakerns. A ceremony is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Collinsville High School gymnasium.

Whitesboro High School

Valedictorian is Shae Hampton in a class of 82 students, and salutatorian is Catherine Jackson. A ceremony is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 31 at Whitesboro High School.

Saint Jo High School

Valedictorian is Kimberly Hale in a class of 16 students, and salutatorian is Tyler Coates. A ceremony is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Saint Jo High School.

Era High School

Information about the valedictorian and salutatorian in a class of 33 graduating students is still tentative. A ceremony is set for 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Era High School gymnasium.

Information about Sacred Heart High School, Thackerville High School and Red River Home School were unavailable at press time.
