Ready, set, read

Staff Report

Cooke County — The Muenster Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America celebrated national FCCLA week from Monday, Feb. 11, to Friday, Feb. 15.

Monday was “Ready, Set, Read” day. FCCLA members wore their pajama pants to school, and read to elementary students.

Tuesday was “Go Green” day. FCCLA members were encouraged to wear green clothing. Also during activity period, students went “green” by cleaning up the campus and recycling used products.

Wednesday was “Teacher Appreciation” day. FCCLA members provided fruits and baked treats in the teacher workrooms to show appreciation to the entire faculty.

Thursday was “Quiet” day. The “Quiet” day tradition is for girl members to receive a heart. The girls must refrain from talking to any boys all day. If the girls talk to a boy, the boy “captures” the girl’s heart. The boy with the most hearts at the end of the day receives a giant decorated chocolate chip cookie.

On Friday, students baked during class, and had a bake sale during lunch. All of the money from the bake sale benefitted ABBA.
