Appraisal complaint

To the Editor

I have never complained to the Appraisal District until this year. I was furious when I got notices that all of our houses (taxes) have been raised by several thousand dollars each. These raises were ridiculous since we are in a depressed market. I have rental property and take it from me, people are not moving to Gainesville.

For many years, before Gainesville voted to allow liquor and beer, Lindsay made enough from the Liquor Tax to have NO City Taxes. The Liquor Tax took care of it. Where is our Liquor Tax going? Does anyone know?
