March 16 filing date finds candidates for most positions

City of Callisburg
Offices up for election include the mayor and two council members. This is an “at-large” election. At large means that all voters can vote for all seats up for election (i.e. when electing five representatives, voters can vote for five candidates). Depending on the system, all candidates may run against one another, with the highest vote getters winning election, or candidates may run for individual, designated seats. Incumbent Frances West is running unopposed for mayor. Incumbents Deborah Davis and Michael Perryman have filed for the council positions. If there are no write-in candidates, the candidates will be declared winners without the expense of an election.

City of Gainesville
Offices up for election include the mayor and three councilors, three City Council member. Incumbent Glenn Loch is being opposed by Michael Stockwell for Mayor. Incumbents Carolyn Hendricks, Ward 1; Beverly Snuggs,Ward 2 and Jim Goldsworthy,Ward 4 are unopposed.

City of Lindsay
Offices up for election include three aldermen seats. This is an “at-large” election. Incumbents Don Metzler and Jeff Neu have filed for alderman seats. Robert Sharp has also filed for an alderman seat. If there are no write-in candidates, the candidates will be declared winners and there will be no election.

City of Muenster
Offices to be filled include that of mayor and two at-large council members. All three officials are unopposed. Incumbent Johnny Pagel is running for mayor. Incumbent Ronald Jack Flusche has declared for Place 3. Incumbent Joey Anderson is running for Place 5. Without additional

City of Valley View
Offices up for election include the mayor, an alderman and an unexpired term for an alderman. The aldermen seats are selected on an at-large basis. Incumbent Carl Kemplin is running unopposed for mayor. Incumbent Glen Lance is being opposed by J.D. Roane for the full-term alderman position. No candidate has filed for the unexpired one year term for an alderman.

Callisburg ISD
Offices up for election include two full term board members and one 1-year unexpired term. This is an “at-large” election. Dusty Weaver is running against incumbent Stephen Potz-Nielsen and appointed incumbant (unexpired term) Paul Hodgkinson for the two full term positions. Lisa Houk has filed for the one 1-year unexpired term.

Gainesville ISD
Offices up for election include board members for Place 4, Place 5 and a 1-year unexpired term for Place 6.
Mike Schmitz is running against incumbent Lisa Bellows for Place 4. Incumbent Phil Adams is running unopposed for Place 5. David Moore and Robert Westbrook have filed for the 1-year unexpired term for Place 6.

Lindsay ISD
Offices up for election include two at-large board positions. Incumbents Bruce Bezner and Lloyd Reiter have filed for board positions.

Muenster ISD
Offices up for election include three board positions, Place 5, Place 6 and Place 7. Richard Dangelmayr and Doug Hermes have filed for Place 5. Incumbent Ronnie Felderhoff and Kimberly Hess Walterscheid have filed for Place 6. Incumbent Steve Trubenback has filed for Place 7.

Valley View ISD
There are four positions open for board members, two regular terms, a 2-year unexpired term and a 1-year unexpired term. Incumbent Josh Brinkley filed for a 3-year term. Appointed incumbent Rodney Ridge filed for a 3-year term. David Pembroke filed for the 2-year unexpired term. Incumbent Janet Bayer filed for the 1-year unexpired term.

North Texas Medical Center
The Governing Board of the Gainesville Hospital District has four seats that are up for election. One seat is for 4-years and the remaining seats are for 3-year terms. Incumbent Jim Lovett has filed for a position on the Governing Board. NTMC Publicist Gayla Blanton said, that if there are no write-in candidates by the March 16 deadline, the election will be cancelled and Jim Lovett will win his seat back and the other three seats will be filled by appointment by the hospital board at the conclusion of the current board member’s terms (end of May).

Muenster Memorial Hospital
Three board places are up for election. Incumbents Kenny Klement and Ronnie Wienzapfel have filed for a position on the board. Aaron Hess has also filed for a position. If there are no write-in candidates by March 16, the candidates will be declared winners without the expense of an election.
