GHS Alumni Association needs nominees for 2008 Hall of Fame inductions

The Gainesville High School Alumni Association is again asking for nominations for the Alumni and Education Halls of Fame who will be honored at this year’s Homecoming festivities.

This year’s honorees — four in each category — will be recognized Sept. 26 at the annual GISD Foundation and Alumni Association luncheon.

Since 2004, the alumni association’s Board of Directors — which includes representatives from every decade of graduates since the 1930s — has accepted nominations from alumni everywhere. So far the board has chosen 17 alumni and 13 educator hall of famers. Each honoree has distinctive talents and achievements.

“We want more,” alumni association president Tom Kennedy said, “There are tons of great Gainesville High School graduates and educators, administrators and school board members from many decades in our great education tradition. We want to recognize their talents and success stories in a variety of fields and endeavers.”

There are several ways to submit nominations. They are:

• Go to www.gainesvilleisd.org and click on the nomination form on the Alumni homepage.

• Email Leslie Nichols, foundation director, at nichols@gainesvilleisd.org.

• Call her to request a nomination form in the mail.
