Cities finalize budget

The town of Oak Ridge was the latest to propose its tax rate and budget for the next fiscal year.
The Oak Ridge city council proposed a total budget of $625,640 and a tax rate of $0.1609 per $100 property valuation.
On Monday, the Board of Aldermen of the city of Valley View proposed a preliminary budget with revenues $607,981, and projected expenses of $595,122. The proposed tax rate is $.19820 per $100.
The city of Callisburg set a proposed tax rate of $.1678 per $100 with a preliminary budget of $489,700 for next year.
In late July, the city of Gainesville proposed a $33.9 million budget, with a tax rate of 0.647 cents per $100. Public hearing on rate is scheduled for next Tuesday.
The city of Lindsay could not be reached for comment by press time.
The Muenster City Council plans to vote on its proposed budget and tax rate 6 p.m. Monday at Muenster City Hall.
Hearings on the tax rate and proposed budget are set at various times throughout the month. The budgets and tax rates are not final until after those meetings. For more infomation, call the city in question.
