Concert to benefit Noah's Art, Butterfield youth

By NATALIA JONES

Andrea Offner is teaming up with classical guitarist Bob Jones for Songs of the Seasons, a special benefit concert for Noah’s Ark and the Butterfield Youth Players, Thursday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at Butterfield Stage Playhouse, 201 S. Denton.

“There is a saying in theater that you should never work with children and animals,” said Offner. “This is a benefit for people that do work with both children and animals.”

Offner’s creation, this is the first year for the benefit concert.

“I decided to do this because I’ve been wanting to do something and the community seemed interested enough in Bob and I,” said Offner. “It’s just a gift from us to them.”

The N.Texas Youth Chorale will make little cameos throughout the night, added Offner. Jones will perform a few solo guitar pieces, while she will sing a few of her original songs as well as some Christmas songs.

“I was born with this voice,” said Offner. “To me, it’s just there like the color of my eyes. It’s my gift back to God to be able to use my voice, so I appreciate any opportunity to share that gift with others.”

Refreshments will be served during the performance and attendees will be able to purchase Offner’s new CD “Separate Paths.”

Tickets are $10 per person. For more information, please call (940) 634-0078.
