Whitesboro police are looking for a suspect who robbed an Alsup’s convenience store on Highway 377 North in Whitesboro early this morning.
Police Chief Scott Taylor said the suspect was in and out quickly.
“He entered the store, came around the corner and demanded money. The clerk opened the drawer, the suspect took the money and left on foot. It all took place in about a minute,” he noted.
Taylor said investigators believe the suspect fled the area in a maroon sport utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer or a Chevrolet Blazer.
“Some witnesses said there was a (vehicle) running a short distance away. They think the suspect got in the SUV,” he said.
Based on surveillance photos, Taylor said the suspect is believed to be a white male about 6 feet tall.
He wore a red bandana with white designs and a white hoodie with a square pattern.
The suspect also displayed a black handgun during the crime, Taylor said.
He said anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call the Whitesboro Police Department at 903-564-3585.
