Whaley bestows donation

— Representatives from several local organizations gathered recently to receive donations from the Whaley United Methodist Church Women. The funds for the gifts were the proceeds from the church women’s annual Chicken Spaghetti Dinner held in November. Present to receive gifts were (not in order): Kim Cook and Kelly Fiore-Watson, Abigail’s Arms; Tricia West, Boys and Girls Club and Littlest Angel; Vicki Robertson, CASA; Mary Klement and Rayedean Crittendon, DASH; Molly Worthen, Habitat for Humanity; Kathie Kirby, Home Hospice; Kim McClinton, Meals on Wheels; Carolyn Castleberry, Stanford House; and Marilyn Melton, VISTO. Also pictured is Nita Boardman, President of Whaley's United Methodist Women.

  • Dolls Morton Museum gets dolled up for summer

    The Morton Museum of Cooke County is gearing up for a full slate of summer programs including children’s tea parties, doll exhibits from across America, private tours and other events designed for both kids and adults.
    “We are building on the huge success of our recent auction and fundraiser by planning many wonderful events throughout the summer for our community,” museum director Jayleane Smith said. “ This will be a wonderful time for groups to come to the museum and see our new exhibits.
