The College Singers and College Wind Ensemble from North Central Texas College will team up on Dec. 7 for a special concert that is sure to put everyone in attendance in the holiday spirit.
The “Christmas Has Come” concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 7 on the main stage of the First State Bank Center for the Performing Arts on the NCTC Gainesville campus.
The free concert will feature traditional holiday classics like “White Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” The College Singers will also perform some non-traditional choices like “Snow” from the Bing Crosby movie “White Christmas,” and also “Christmas Time Is Here” from the animated classic “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
Concert-goers will be in for a special treat in the final portion of the show. The audience will see a Victorian Christmas card come to life and a charming vignette that will feature community soloist Angela Doss. Audience members will remember Doss for her role as Maria in the NCTCperformances of “The Sound of Music” this past summer.
“We are dedicated to making all of the College Singers concerts fun, enlightening and entertaining for the whole family,” said College Singers director Shane Studdard. “Our fall concert was one of the best attended in recent memory. I believe students should be exposed to the highest level of choral art, but I also want to totally engage and excite people in our community when they come to hear the choir sing.
“With the variety of the Singers, the Wind Ensemble and our special guests, the audience will witness a treat that will make their holiday even brighter and happier.”
