Cooke County Republican Women (CCRW) President Susan Hughes announced this week that Steve Munisteri, chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, will be the special guest at the organization’s Christmas Celebration Potluck Dinner at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The holiday party will include the installation of 2013 officers, and will be held at the home of Debbie and Doyle Hess in Muenster. Members are asked to bring a family favorite dish to share.
A native of Houston, Munisteri is a conservative grassroots activist and 39-year veteran of Republican politics.
He has served the Republican Party in numerous volunteer capacities, and has worked in more than 50 campaigns, from blockwalking and phone banks to sitting in on strategy sessions for national presidential campaigns.
Munisteri graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA in finance. He also earned a juris doctorate from UT Law School. Upon graduation, he became an associate with a law firm.
In 1982, Munisteri founded his own law firm and built it from a one-man operation to a business with 49 employees, 20 attorneys and a multi-million dollar budget.
Munisteri was elected in 2010 as Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, headquartered in Austin. He was reelected at the 2012 Texas GOP Convention in Fort Worth in June. As Chairman, he represents Texas Republicans at meetings of the Republican National Committee.
