Assaults lead indictment list

Gainesville — A trio of alleged aggravated assaults top the list of Cooke County

Grand Jury’s most recent slate of indictments.

Court documents said John Darryl Wilkerson II, Michael Andrew Rowe and

Santiago Hernandez-Castillo stand accused of felony assault offenses

in two separate cases that occurred earlier in the year.

On Jan. 1, Wilkerson allegedly used a firearm to threaten John

Wilkerson; on Jan. 21, Rowe allegedly used a knife to threaten Chrissy

Smith; and on March 19, Castillo allegedly used a firearm to threaten

Yadira Cedillo. The three alleged offenses, which were technically

threats with deadly weapons, all classify as second-degree felonies of

aggravated assault.

Other indictments:

Donald Ray Johnson was indicted for evading arrest by use of a motor

vehicle, an enhanced second-degree felony. The alleged offense

occurred March 26, 2012.

Adrian Ruiz was indicted for burglary of a building, a state jail

felony. The alleged offense occurred March 3, 2012.

Amy Marie Langston was indicted for possession of a controlled

substance (an amount less than one gram), a state jail felony. The

alleged offense occurred Oct. 2, 2011.

Rodriquez Johnson was indicted for possession of a controlled

substance (an amount between one and four grams), a second-degree

felony. The alleged offense occurred Dec. 11, 2011.

Monty Steven Truesdale was indicted for possession of a controlled

substance (an amount less than one gram), a state jail felony. The

alleged offense occurred Dec. 12, 2011.

John Zachary Turner was indicted for possession of a short-barrel

firearm, a third-degree felony. The alleged offense occurred Nov. 3,

2011.

Oscar Vergara was indicted for evading arrest by use of a motor

vehicle, a state jail felony. The alleged offense occurred April 1,

2012.

Darren Bernard Jenkins was indicted for driving while intoxicated, a

third-degree felony. The alleged offense occurred May 3, 2011.

Chester Lloyd Hoover was indicted for possession of a controlled

substance (an amount less than one gram), a third-degree felony. The

alleged offense occurred Nov. 3, 2011.

Colby Green was indicted for possession of marijuana (an amount

between four ounces and five pounds), a state a jail felony. The

alleged offense occurred March 25, 2012.

Bobby Dean Hatcher was indicted for possession of a controlled

substance (an amount less than one gram), a state jail felony. The

alleged offense occurred Dec. 9, 2011.

Jermedrick Washington was indicted for burglary of a building, a state

jail felony; and possession of a prohibited substance in a

correctional facility, a third-degree felony. The alleged offenses

occurred Aug. 17, 2011.

Duane Arnold was indicted for indecency with a child, a second-degree

felony. The alleged offense occurred Jan. 29, 2012.

Steven Thomas Booker was indicted for driving while intoxicated (his

third or more offense), a third-degree felony. The alleged offense

occurred Feb. 29, 2012.

    Members of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) have announced new recommendations in their continued quest to end drunk driving.
    During the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, alcohol is a common theme in many celebratory activities throughout the nation and state, and, therefore, many Texans unnecessarily die in vehicular accidents involving alcohol-impaired drivers.
    This past week, National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) officials announced several new recommendations relating to drunk driving, including lowering the national blood alcohol content (BAC) standard from .08 to .05.
