The fourth annual “I Do, I Don’t “game show at Butterfield Stage played to a standing room only crowd recently and was once again a huge hit. Butterfield’s version of the iconic “Newlywed Game” had the audience in stiches from beginning to end.
The “more mature marrieds” contestants included Susan and Mark Metzler, Leslie and Ray Nichols and Mary Nell and Gary O’Dell. They competed against the “younger marrieds” which included Nicole and Nathan Dempsey, Elizabeth and Kyle Campbell and Lisa and David Moore.
Emcee/host Wally Cullum challenged the participants with carefully selected questions to reveal some interesting and hilarious aspects of their relationships.
Keeping score and tantalizing the contestants while amusing the audience with her own brand of comedy was hostess Sandy Geyer playing the sumptuous “Ivana Berich.”
Following multiple rounds of questions and answers, David and Lisa Moore emerged the winners of the evening. They are shown here with MC Wally Cullum (left), holding the perpetual prize for the show – ‘The Lady Leg Lamp.” The Moore’s will now proudly display this “prize” in their home for the next year.
“I Do. I Don’t” is part of the Special Events series held during the year at Butterfield. This includes the “Olde Tyme Radio Show” and the annual “Fish Fest.” These events help raise operating funds for the theater and allow Butterfield to produce quality entertainment for local residents.
Also included in the Butterfield season offerings are its Main Stage productions, the Artist Showcase Series, an annual Children’s Christmas show production and a two week summer camp for ages five through 12 where kids can learn about the theater and produce a show.
Tickets go on sale Feb. 21 for the next Main Stage production, “The Red Velvet Cake War” which opens on March 7.
