Gainesville —
On Friday, NCTC’s Lifelong Learning students bonded in more than one way at the first-ever Weld-Off competition in the college’s new Career Technology Center on campus.
“We want students to learn to weld under pressure and build self-esteem for a job in the future,” said Maggie Kierl who is the recruiting and advising coordinator for the Lifelong Learning program. Forty-two students participated in the competition and they worked with four different welding processes. An awards ceremony was held later that evening to recognize the talents of each participant.
