— Members of the Gainesville High School band performed at the downtown Gainesville square Friday evening during a holiday-themed series of “open house” ceremonies at businesses on California and Commerce streets. The events included food and beverages and were part of a Christmas-spirited weekend in Gainesville, followed on Saturday evening by a live Nativity scene and a special tour of decorated homes in the historic south Gainesville area.
