Members of the Lion’s Club meeting collected over $100 for Volunteers in Service to Others (VISTO) during the July 3 lunch meeting.
Other discussion included the upcoming golf tournament on July 20. Team places for the two-person scramble event are still available with costs per team at $130 or $65 each player. Play will begin at 8 a.m. with registration at 7:30 a.m. The tournament is a major fundraiser for the club in which eye examinations and glasses are provided for needy children who cannot afford eye care.
Also speaking at the meeting was chiropractor Dr. Dave Tuck, who told the group about an advanced bloodwork diagnostic test that can be taken by anyone with Medicare or personal insurance at no out-of-pocket costs.
This blood panel tests include tests for diabetes, overall genes, lipid profile and a comprehensive panel that can predict your susceptibility to coronary issues, Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease.
It differs from regular blood tests because it provides genetic markers, metabolic markers and a complete health diagnostics identifying unique and different results of individuals.
The sample panel helps to understand the unique conditions which enables individuals to adapt a healthier lifestyle tailored to your genetic and current health status.
“0ur office is the only place north of Dallas that offers these diagnostic tests and we can have results back within 10 days,” Tuck said. “I urge everyone to call and set up an appointment or to find out more information regarding these tests.”
