Election day voting in the 2012 primary runoff races is set for 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the polling locations provided below.
All local candidates are running for Republican Party seats.Cooke County sheriff candidates Terry Gilbert and Jim Carter will face off once again during the runoff, as will District 68 candidates Drew Springer and Trent McKnight. And Cooke County voters can participate in not only those local races, but also races for the U.S. Senate (between candidates David Dewhurst and Ted Cruz), state railroad commissioner (Warren Chisum and Christi Craddick; Greg Parker and Barry Smitherman) and Texas Supreme Court Place 4 (David Medina and John Devine) seats. The state runoff election includes one Democratic race, with Grady Yarbrough and Paul Sadler running for the United States Senate.
Voters can participate at these following locations for the corresponding precincts:
Precincts 1, 3, 5 and 31 — North Central Texas College Library lyceum, 1525 W. California St. in Gainesville.
Precincts 2, 30, 34 and 35 — First Christian Church, 401 N. Dixon St. in Gainesville.
Precincts 4, 26 and 37 — Hillcrest Church of Christ, 1712 O’Neal St. in Gainesville.
Precincts 6 and 9 — Callisburg Community Center, 92 McDaniel St. in Whitesboro.
Precincts 7 and 28 — Tabernacle Baptist Church, 305 County Road 194.
Precinct 8 — Callisburg Elementary School, 648 FM 3164.
Precinct 10 — Mount Springs Community Center, 173 Mount Springs Lane in Valley View.
Precinct 11 — First Baptist Church activities building, 504 N. Lee St. in Valley View.
Precinct 12 and 14 — Era Community Center, 102 Malone St. in Era.
Precinct 15 — Myra Baptist Church, 218 Bradford St. in Myra.
Precinct 17 — Muenster VFW, 136 Ash St. in Muenster.

National Transportation Safety Board considers lowering blood alcohol levels for drivers
Members of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) have announced new recommendations in their continued quest to end drunk driving.
During the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, alcohol is a common theme in many celebratory activities throughout the nation and state, and, therefore, many Texans unnecessarily die in vehicular accidents involving alcohol-impaired drivers.
This past week, National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) officials announced several new recommendations relating to drunk driving, including lowering the national blood alcohol content (BAC) standard from .08 to .05. -
