Event nets $10K for fire departments

Valley View — VALLEY VIEW — Cooke County Fire Support and Rehab team held its fourth annual fundraiser Saturday at the First Baptist Reach Out Center.

The group supports all county fire departments.

The group held their silent and live auction Saturday along with a chicken meal and raised over $10,000 for the county fire departments.

Rehab team members use some of the funds raised to buy medical gear for firefighters. This includes medical bags, hydration supplies, gas detection meters and “cooling chairs” that provide firefighters physical relief from heat stress.

The event’s auction items included farm and ranch supplies, automotive equipment, pet items, homemade gifts and gift packages. Many of the items were donated by local businesses.
