Monday’s regular commissioners’ court meeting will include an annual report of the Cooke County Justice Center.
County jail administrator Larry Winter will present the annual jail report and discuss additional jail standards.
Also on Monday’s agenda:
• Commissioners will consider a plan to repair roof leaks at the Cooke County Library facility.
• Commissioners will consider these consent agenda items: fiscal year 2013 and 2014 budget amendments; monthly bills; payroll and related expenses; a public employee honesty bond for the district clerk’s office; an election agreement for the 2014 primary election between Cooke County and the Cooke County Republican Party; an election agreement for the 2014 primary election between Cooke County and Cooke County Democratic Party; a novation agreement between Cooke County and Lake Kiowa Medical Clinic; the salvage and trade in of a broken taser and the purchase of a new one; a Careflite group membership agreement extension for the 2014 calendar year; a contract for an annual elevator inspection; the purchase of three pieces of road maintenance equipment; the quarterly internal audit of the treasurer, adult probation, district attorney and sheriff’s office; accepting auction proceeds from the sale of Road and Bridge Pct. 3 equipment in the amount of $19,864.60; the closing of the Cooke County Library at 4 p.m. on Dec. 23, and Dec. 31; a rider for the bond of Joe Stout, deputy constable, Pct. 1; and the salvage of two TVs , a VCR, microwave and a shredder in unknown condition from the Cooke County Sheriff’s Office.

Alexander found guilty of serious injury to a child
After quick deliberation by a Cooke County Jury, Johnny Earl Alexander was declared guilty Thursday afternoon for the Sept. 28, 2011 first degree felony offense of serious injury to a child that resulted in the death of four-year-old, Nathan De Alejandro.

Club members focus on vision screening device
The Lions Club, long time pioneers in rehabilitation and education for the blind, have a new focus detailed in the recent Wednesday meeting with the introduction of a vision screening device called the Spot made by PediaVision which would be beneficial in the early detection of vision problems in children.
Cherry recognized as employee of the month
Gainesville employee of the month is Hodge Cherry, zookeeper at the Frank Buck Zoo, who was recognized at the Tuesday Gainesville City Council meeting for his volunteer assistance to fellow employees and zoo animals during the December cold and ice storm which paralyzed much of the city and transportation capabilities.
Muenster city election canceled
Muenster City Council members canceled the uncontested May 10 city election and approved an increase to the energy service agreement with Green Mountain Energy Company, according to the March 3 unofficial minutes.

Results of Tuesday's primary election
A total of 5,451 ballots were cast during the primary election held Tuesday with 5,169 votes in the Republican primary and 282 votes in the Democratic primary.
