FLOWER MOUND – North Central Texas College offers many degree plans and certifications including one in business management.
This degree is an Applied Science degree and focuses on educating students on very practical studies. With this degree/certification, students learn day-to-day management skills, communication skills, marketing skills, accounting and more.
On April 30, students from the Principles of Management class on the NCTC Flower Mound campus held an open house as a class project to assist in recruiting and educating other students about the Business Management program.
NCTC Business Management program coordinator Alyson Livingston wants students to understand that the Business Management program is not only an easily-transferable degree, but is a wonderful way to enter the world of business.
A student can take classes in the program for a 30-hour certificate that feeds entirely into the 60-hour Associate of Applied Science degree. Specific courses such as customer service, marketing, and personal finance are also useful just to refresh skills and enhance resumes. The programs are also a wonderful choice for the student who is undecided on what type of business they are interested in pursuing.
“I am taking this class because I am doing something business related, but I just don’t know what yet and this is a good starting class,” said student Kim Davis.
Christian Chase, who is interested in construction management, is taking the Principles of Management class.
“I am taking this class to help lead me where to go,” he said, “This class is teaching me how to control, manage and organize.”
