The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce will be looking for a new executive director after former director John Broyles was fired Friday, according to a report on KGAF (1580 AM) this morning.
In an interview with the radio station, Broyles further explained his termination.
“Kent Sharp, the Gainesville Economic Development executive director, along with Tim Fogle, the newly-elected chairman of the Gainesville Chamber board, have both decided to release me of my duties at the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce.”
The Gainesville Economic Development Corporation currently has oversight of the Chamber. A special meeting of the board of the directors of the Chamber of Commerce was scheduled for this morning at 10 a.m.
