NTMC Foundation's annual Halloween Hustle set for Oct. 31

Runners, walkers and joggers get ready to put your tennis shoes on for the 13th annual Halloween Hustle scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31.

The Halloween Hustle is a community race entered by individuals, groups, companies and agencies.

The race starts at 9:30 a.m. and the start line will be at the east side of the hospital and will be marked with banners.

Early registration for the event must be postmarked today and late registration and package pickup will take place the day of the event in the hospital boardroom from 7 to 8 a.m.

The first 500 registered will receive a NTMC Halloween Hustle t-shirt. All registered participants will be eligible for prize giveaways.

Awards will be given to the top three finishers overall and in age group categories for males and females.

The school district and the business with the most participants will also be presented with an award.

To enter, complete an entry form and mail it with the entry fee. For an entry form and instructions go to page 11 of today’s Register.

The race starts and ends at NTMC.

The three females with the fastest times in the 12th annual Halloween Hustle Fun Run and Walk Oct. 25 2008 were Grace Bezner, first place, at 21:16:19; Shelly Kline of Denton, second place, with a time of 22:01:99 and Tawni Luke of Valley View, third place, 22:15:27.

Posting the top times for the males in the NTMC Halloween Hustle last year were Gio Carranza of Gainesville, first place at 17:38:59; Johnny Green of Muenster, second place, with a time of 17:45:56 and Marc Dick of Dexter, third place with a time of 18:00:39.

The Fun Run, which benefits the North Texas Medical Center Foundation, garnered 494 entries last year.

NTMC is located at 1900 Hospital Boulevard in Gainesville.
