Brown Motor Company sold to Luttrull-McNatt

It’s official.

As many have known for weeks, Brown Motor Company has reportedly been sold to Sanger Chevrolet dealer Luttrell-McNatt.

A representative for Luttrull-McNatt was cautious when asked about the deal several weeks ago.

“The dealership has not yet been sold. It is in the process of being purchased by Luttrull-McNatt,” the representative — who was working at a desk inside the Brown showroom — said.

Employees of Luttrull-McNatt were understandably reluctant to pronounce the transaction a done deal after a buy-sell agreement worked out between Brown and Decatur-based James Wood Group fell through at the 11th hour last April.

Joey Luttrell said he didn’t want to talk publically about the impending sale.

“It’s no secret, but based on what happened between Mr. Brown and the James Wood Group, we’d like to (reframe from making comments) for 10 to 15 days until GM okays the deal,” Luttrell said via telephone in early October.

He also said there was no chance the Luttrull-McNatt-Brown deal will collapse.

Luttrull-McNatt is located on Stemmons Freeway in Sanger. The dealership sells Chevrolet, Dodge, GM Goodwrench, Honda, Scion and Toyota vehicles and products.
