North Texas Medical Center has made dressing up more than a Halloween tradition — it is an all-out competition.
On Friday, visitors and patients of the medical center were met by a variety of costumed characters — from a devil in the dining room, to a bunch of fruit in the emergency department.
At 2 p.m., the cute, crazy and clever gathered for the judges and three winners were named.
First place was awarded to members of the patient registration and pre-cert departments, who dressed as the NTMC Powderpuffs, complete with cheerleaders and a coach. Sporting the pink and black were: Melissa Abernathy, Jocelyn Barnard, Amy Cross, Jackie Edwards, Christie Lavesque, Aleda Ward and Whitney Watson.
Second place went to Sara Jones, dressed as a killer bee, and winning third place honors were: Brittany Adkins, Sarah Clure, Kathy Davis and Sandra Walterscheid from the emergency department — Chiquita and Her Fruit.
The contest was sponsored by the NTMC Activities Committee.
