BESSIE ALLISON
Funeral services for Bessie Allison, 86, of Gainesville are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at Commerce St. Church of Christ with Ronnie Quaid, and Walter Vincent officiating.
Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in Corsicana at Oakwood Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Bessie Allison passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2009 at Denton Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 19, 1923 in Powell to Frank and Celeste (Benoit) Kelly. She married Manuel Thomas Allison Dec. 20, 1941 in Gladewater. Bessie was a homemaker who loved her family and was especially devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had been a member of Commerce Street Church of Christ since 1966.
Survivors of Bessie Allison include sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Stephanie Allison of Shamrock, Philip and Lena Allison of Gainesville and Mike and Patti Allison of Plainview; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and sister, Louise Fox of Seminole, Okla.
She was preceded by her husband, Manuel Allison in 2001; son, Manuel Thomas Allison, Jr.; parents; five sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
