Local artwork has been displayed in area bank lobbies for over ten years.
Artists of the Month for November are American Bank — Oscar Gutierrez, First State Bank — Retha Bond, First State Bank Highway 82 —Carol Henry, Prosperity Bank — Marie Van Arsdale and Muenster State Bank — Bob Schafer.
Art work by these artists will remain at the banks until December.
The second Creative Art Camp was held Sat. Nov. 14 at North Central Texas College Visual Art Building. Students were taught by Gerri Williams and assisted by Retha Bond, Sylvia Deaver & Irene Parker.
Williams demonstrated watercolor techniques for students who painted an underwater scene. Students presented various ideas for their paintings before they began. After a break for lunch, the final details were printed, glued and painted on the painting.
Those who finished their underwater scenes early, enjoyed making a large watercolored fish stuffed to hang in their rooms. Everyone also made a folded construction paper box for their final project.
The next art camp is scheduled for spring.
