An industry leader in patient home health care, Encompass Home Health of Gainesville gave back to the community on Wednesday with a $1,000 donation to Volunteers In Service to Others (VISTO).
According to Suzanne Yeager, VISTO coordinator and administrative assistant, the gift came at a good time.
“Our shelves have been depleted this summer and we have had to spend more than usual to make sure we have supplies for the hungry,” Yeager said.
Pam Morris, Regional Director of Encompass, said that it was important for the company to give back to the community.
“Giving back to the community supports our Mission Statement of ‘A Better Way to Care.’ We believe in paying it forward because of the blessings that we receive every day.”
“We want to provide care to those in our community and this is just one way we can show that,” she continued. “Our employees contribute to the Encompass Cares Foundation making this and other opportunities possible.”
Morris said that they will have future donations for VISTO including diabetic supplies.
Encompass has been in the Gainesville area for over two years and is part of a national effort that has been in existence since the 1980s.
It has also been voted one of the top five best employers across the United States.
