Police are searching for suspects in a series of burglaries in the southeastern part of the city.
Burglars have targeted several Gainesville businesses including Security Finance, World Finance Corporation and Marler Used Cars.
Public Information Officer Belva McClinton said the crimes share some similarities.
“Because of their locations (investigators) are certainly considering the possibility that at least some of the burglaries are related,” McClinton said.
The suspects who broke into World Finance in the 200 block of North Commerce Street got away with two notebook computers and an undetermined amount of loose change, she said.
A used car dealership on West Broadway, has been burglarized more than once, according to police public information reports.
A suspect reportedly walked away with several hundred dollars worth of cash after a break-in two weeks ago at the used car dealership.
The latest burglary occurred some time Thursday night or early Friday.
A suspect broke an exterior window to gain access to an office inside a larger building.
Many of the burglaries include property damage such as broken doors and windows.
A suspect broke a glass door at Marketplace earlier this month and entered the building.
Businesses aren’t the only targets for break-ins.
A staff member at Head Start Academy, Gainesville ISD’s early childhood educational facility, reported a break-in this weekend.
The suspect or suspects in the Head Start burglary reportedly entered the building through a window.
Earlier this month, employees of King’s Garage told police a suspect pushed an air conditioner aside and entered the building.
