The North Central Texas Chorale will present Handel’s “Messiah” on Saturday, Dec. 8. The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay. Tickets will be available at the door. Adult tickets are $10. Tickets for students and St. Peter’s parishioners are $8.
The concert will feature the portions of Messiah most commonly associated with the Christmas story. The Chorale will be joined by a chamber orchestra, Carolyn Hook on harpsichord, resident organist Andrew Kenney, and four talented soloists from around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
“The Chorale is honored to perform at St. Peter’s,” Chorale president Phil Schenk said. “This historic church underwent a $4 million restoration that began in 2009. This restoration included the installation of a completely rebuilt pipe organ from the 1890s. The recent renovations to St. Peter’s make it the perfect place – both artistically and acoustically – for an unforgettable performance of this choral masterpiece.”
The Chorale is under the direction of Daniel Banke.
Banke is the Director of Music Ministries at First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. For more information visit the website, www.northcentraltexaschorale.com for more information.
