Saturday’s unofficial election day results brought the sale of liquor to a Cooke County precinct, new candidates to local school boards and the failure of passage of a $12 million campus improvement bond.

Mayor signs "National Nursing Home Week" proclamation
Green balloons were released into the air Monday by residents at the Gainesville Health and Rehabilitation Center in honor of “National Nursing Home” week held May 12-18. A special week of celebrations is planned, said activities supervisor Tracie Hutchings.
