MUENSTER — Andy Flusche earned his second consecutive district Most Valuable Player award - this time for his defense alone.
Flusche, the District 5-1A MVP a year ago, was named the Division II District 8-1A Defensive MVP for the Hornets in a list recently released.
Flusche racked up more than 100 tackles and was named to the Register’s All-Cooke County team at linebacker.
All-state defensive end and the county’s Defensive MVP Cole Walterscheid was named to the first-team in the list compiled by the league’s coaches.
Also named first-team from Muenster on defense was Jared Endres (DL), Steven Flusche (OLB) and Trevor Hess (DB).
Era’s Avery Fortenberry earned first-team honors for both sides of the ball. The senior was named first-team at offensive line and defensive line. He was the only Era player to make first-team.
The first-team offense loaded up on Muenster players. Trevor Hess (RB), Walterscheid (WR), Jared Endres (OL), Paul Mouring (OL), Andy Flusche (TE), Clint Sidwell (P) and Hunter Klement (K) all made first-team.
Second-team players from Muenster include: Mason Binder (ILB), Colton Lang (DB), Steven Flusche (RB), Clint Sidwell (WR), Garrett Miller (OL) and Blayne Styles (OL).
Second-team players from Era include: Madison Pearse (DL/OL), Bobby Riley (LB), Caleb Thompson (LB), Austin King (DB/RB) and Wrange Walther (TE).
Pride award winners were Tre Jones (Electra), Aaron Krewson (Era), C.T. Beecham (Muenster), Ryan Redder (Munday), Jared Smith (Perrin) and Thomas Ramsey (Petrolia).
