Lady Leopards drop district match against No. 7 Decatur

Gainesville — The Gainesville volleyball team held its own against one of the top Class 3A teams in the state Friday, but it would not be enough for the team to earn a win.

GHS (18-17-1, 2-2) fell to No.7 Decatur in three sets on the road, dropping the match 25-20, 25-15, 25-8.

Whytneigh Duffie had five kills, 19 digs and a block for the Lady Leopards, while Ariannah Kemp earned three kills and four blocks. Payton Cassidy finished with 13 digs.

After splitting its first four district matches, the Lady Leopards sit in third place in its district.

The team will begin the second half of district play Tuesday night  when the Lady Leopards host Bridgeport at the GHS gymnasium.
