Muenster —
Sacred Heart’s Austin Springer captured 11th place at the Texas
Association of Private and Parochial Schools AA Golf Championships at
Stone Creek Golf Course in Killeen.
Springer struggled on day one with a 91 but came back on day two and
fired an 83. He tied for the seventh best score on the second day in
very windy conditions.
The two day total of 174 tied Springer for eleventh overall. Carter
Caldwell of Waco Vanguard captured first place with a two day total of
150.
Springer had two bad holes the first day when he took a quadruple and
triple bogey. He was able to bounce back the second day and improve
his position.
“I was pleased with the way Austin came back on Tuesday,” Coach Jon
LeBrasseur said. “His 83 was very impressive especially in the
afternoon wind and on the dried out greens that were lightning fast.”
