Lindsay wraps up second place

Lindsay — Dean Fleitman was untouchable and the Lindsay offense

scratched out the only run they needed defeating the Collinsville

Pirates Thursday in Lindsay, 1-0.

With the win the Knights clinch second place in District 15-A and

pushed Ector back to the third position.

Fleitman had a huge game on the mound with 20 strikeouts. He took a

no-hitter into the sixth inning but Collinsville’s Cory Ragsdale broke

it up with a two out single.

Lindsay would put themselves in numerous scoring opportunities all

game long but would pick up their only run in the fifth.

Dylan Hughes led off with a walk followed by another walk by John

Haverkamp. Fleitman then singled to load the bases with nobody out.

Collinsville’s Kyle Schindler got Tanner Kuhn to ground out but Trevor

DeBorde followed with a sacrifice fly to give the Knights the only run

they would need.

The Knights came up empty in the bottom of third inning after getting

runners to second and third with nobody out. Two straight ground balls

back to the pitcher killed the rally. DeBorde did draw a two out walk

to load the bases but then Collinsville pitcher Cody Weaver got Zach

Mlinar to strike out swinging.

Fleitman led the way on the mound picking up the win, going all seven

innings, striking out 20 and only allowed two walks.

Schindler took the loss for the Pirates giving up the lone run in the

fifth inning.

Hughes, Fleitman, Tanner Kuhn, and Garrett Cooper all had lone singles

for the Knights.
