GIRLS HOOPS ROUNDUP: Era blasts Newcastle, moves to 10-3

ERA — Hayley Knabe scored 14 points as Era improved to 10-3 on the season with a 53-11 win over Newcastle on Tuesday.

Logan Knabe and Shelby Huddleston both scored eight points a piece for the Lady Hornets. Hannah Erwin had seven points and Sydney Beuthien had six.

“I’m proud of these young ladies,” Era coach Don Neu said. “They continue to improve each and every game.”

Era will begin the S&S Tournament starting today.



Melissa 54, Gainesville 51

Ariannah Kemp scored 14 points in a 54-51 Gainesville loss to Melissa.

The Lady Leopards (7-4) took a 41-39 lead heading into the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold on down the stretch.

Brittany Royal scored 13 points for Gainesville. Kiarah Maneul and Chandler Kemp both had nine points.

Whitney Taylor scored 22 points for Melissa (7-4). Emily Bates had 12 points. Gainesville will play in the Aubrey Tournament starting today.



Muenster 44, Ponder 37

Amber Walterscheid scored 10 points as Muenster downed Ponder 44-37.

Paige Herr and Michelle Sicking both scored nine points for the Lady Hornets (11-2).  Hannah Bayer had seven points.

Muenster will take part in the Plainview Tournament in Ardmore, Okla. starting today.



Whitewright 39, Lindsay 35

Sydney Ott scored 15 points for Lindsay but it wouldn’t be enough as the Lady Knights fell 39-35 against Whitewright.

Lindsay will begin the Madill Tournament starting today.
