Lady Eagles hold off Tigerettes

Gainesville — It didn’t come easy, but the Valley View girls basketball team did enough to win its first game of the Holiday Classic Friday.

Leading for most of the game, the Lady Eagles hung on to advance to the consolation final, beating Cooke County rival Sacred Heart in a closely contested 50-47 victory.

Lauren Bierschank finished with 20 for the Lady Eagles and Karleigh Reeves scored 21 for SHHS.

VVHS will face Muenster for the consolation title at noon and the Tigerettes will face Lindsay in the seventh place game at 9 a.m.
