The Lindsay Knights showed that they are ready to reload rather than rebuild in 2010.
The Knights kicked off their season opener Friday with a 35-19 rout of the Tom Cats.
Tom Bean grabbed the upper hand with a 51-yard touchdown strike with 3:04 left in the first quarter to take a 6-0 lead.
But Lindsay scored the next 28 points to take a 28-7 midway through the third quarter.
Tom Bean scored to make it 28-13, but Lindsay (1-0) answered in the fourth with a score to push their lead to 35-13.
Tom Bean (0-1) scored its final touchdown with 6:16 left in regulatiom, but Lindsay held the lead the rest of the way.
Speedy running back Robert Arend rushed for 151 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns while Blake Walker added 144 yards.
Also contributing were Hud Harrison who tallied 34 yards on the ground and two scores. Travis Skinner added 11 yards and a score as well.
In all, the Knights rushed for 336 yards on 33 carries and scored five times on the ground.
Lindsay had just 14 yards through the air on 2-of-4 passing by quarterback Dawson Holt.
Both completions went to senior Madison Parkhill.
