GAINESVILLE — Offense was at a premium Tuesday as Gainesville was held to three hits in a 4-0 loss to Sanger.
Leopard batters struck out nine times as the Indians baffled them at the plate throughout the game at Locke Field.
Dillon Schroeder had two of the Leopards’ three hits, going 2 for 3 in the contest. Denzel Johnson went 1 for 3.
Sanger struck for one run in the top of the first inning, two more in the third inning before adding one more in the sixth inning. The Indians had seven hits.
Chance Sikes took the loss for the Leopards, going all seven innings while striking out two batters. The senior allowed four earned runs and walked four.
Gainesville will play its final home game of the season April 19 when the Leopards welcome Bridgeport. It will be the last game played at historic Locke Field.
